How should I prepare my skin for LED, and which skincare products should I avoid?

We recommend using your LED mask on clean, dry skin, with makeup, sunscreen and skincare removed.

Avoid applying retinol or other retinoids, exfoliating acids such as AHAs and BHAs, and benzoyl peroxide underneath your mask. These ingredients can irritate the skin and are best kept separate from your LED session, particularly if your skin is sensitive.

After your treatment, apply a gentle, hydrating serum and moisturiser. These active ingredients aren’t automatically incompatible with an LED routine, but if you use prescription skincare or products carrying a light-sensitivity warning, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using the mask.
