Let’s Talk Light Therapy & The Benefits
Share
What is led light therapy?
LED light therapy is a skincare treatment that uses varied wavelengths of light to treat a number of skin concerns.
What does it do for my skin?
Light therapy has a variety of benefits that have been clinically tested and trailed all over the world. Some benefits include - slowing down the signs of ageing, treating breakouts and acne and improving the clarity and texture of your skin.
But how ?
The skin uses the light as a source of energy to fuel, repair and rejuvenate the skin. The colour and light emitted from the LED device produces precise wavelengths and these wavelengths penetrate the skin at various depths. The wavelengths stimulate certain skin responses, whether it be increasing cellular activity or encouraging faster healing. Controlling these wavelengths comes down to choosing which colour of LED light is used.
Fun fact
Light Therapy has been around for over 50 years. NASA originally developed it for plant growth experiments on shuttle missions. Since then studies have found light therapy to have multiple benefits for the skin. LED light therapy is now used by some dermatologists to help regenerate the skin from ageing, improve acne, pigmentation and more.
